National selection round:

The Japanese national selection round of the Louis Lesaffre Cup took place at the MOBAC Show, in Osaka, from 25th to 28th February 2009. Following this event, three candidates were chosen to represent their country in this bakery competition. Despite Japan's recent disasters, the team did not flag in their training and the candidates are still highly motivated to put their expertise to the test.
